Living in a third-world country was my motivation for starting HopeHealth. From a young age I have always had a passion for science, more specifically environmental conservation and public health. Growing up in Vietnam I witnessed the affects of urbanization on our environment and the privilege of good healthcare. I created HopeHealth not only to promote healthcare globally but in hopes of making change. - Grace Wong (Founder)
Over the last few decades Vietnam has seen impressive progress towards improving the health status of the population. Improvements are attributable to a widespread innovations, increasing numbers of qualified health workers, and expanding national public health programs. Although many great achievements have been made to Vietnams healthcare system, Vietnam still faces many difficulties and challenges. The emerging burden of diseases (cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, etc.) and infectious diseases (HIV/AID, H1A1, etc.) an ageing population, inadequate capacity of the health system, and problems of inequities in access to heatlh and health care. As Vietnam faces the problems AND achievements in developing healthcare systems for low- and middle- income areas our nonprofit hopes to contribute as much as possible to solving these issues.
